Packaging Details of Our Engineering Castings
Every general engineering component is meticulously handled and carefully packaged to ensure optimal freight safety. This ensures product integrity on arrival, lower scrappage due to transit damage, and faster time-to-market.
- Layer 1: We use vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) bags and paper wrapping to prevent oxidation. Low-carbon parts are coated with RP-grade wax and oils for rust prevention. Finally, we add desiccants such as silica gel bags to absorb errant moisture.
- Layer 2: We pack each component in bubble wrap, with protective plastic sleeves slipped over threaded shafts. Multi-slot cardboard or plastic slots are used to separate components. For high-value castings, we switch to custom thermoformed casting trays or CNC-cut EPE foam inserts.
- Layer 3: We then package components in 7-ply or 9-ply corrugated boxes. Each box weighs up to 25 kgs for safety purposes and ease of handling. Boxes are sealed with PP strapping bands. Heavier components are packaged in ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets and Glitterbox cages.
- Layer 4: We use L-profiles and heavy cardboard corners to protect carton edges from strap crushing. Once loaded onto a pallet, the cartons are wrapped in multiple layers of LLDPE stretch film to protect against environmental damage.
Shipping Markings and Documentation Compliance
Once packaged and loaded onto pallets and crates, they are stamped with clear international shipping symbols.
- ISPM-15 stamp: Validates phytosanitary compliance for wooden packaging.
- Handling pictograms: Universally accepted markings for handle with care, fragile, this way up.
- Package details: Gross weight, Net weight, Part number, Purchase Order (PO), and destination port.
